Saraswathi began her journey in the path of yoga and healing over 25 years ago. She studied and trained under Sri TKV Desikachar for over 17 years in the tradition of Sri T Krishnamacharya.
She holds two Masters Degrees (in Nutrition and Psychology) and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Yoga. She has served as a yoga teacher, consultant, trainer and therapist for close to two decades at Krishnamacharya Yoga Mandiram (KYM) in Chennai and has also been actively involved in yoga research bringing the much-needed scientific perspective to yoga therapy.

 

Location: Senor Citizens Hall, 9 William Road Blairgowrie
Cost: $400 (+ processing fee) includes GST
Includes: classes, daily refreshments and snacks.

 

In our time together, we will walk, chant, practice asanas (postures), pranayama (breathing practices), meditation and relaxation techniques, and simple mindfulness training exercises (such as mindful eating and mindful walking) that will help you develop awareness throughout the day – all techniques and practices that you will be able to take home and apply to your daily life.

 

Timings + Registration.

Please reach by 9.00am on Saturday 30 November to register for 9.30 am start. The first session will conclude at 5.00/ 5.30

Sunday, please arrive no later than 9.30am. Day sessions conclude at 5.00/5.30 and there will be a lunch break- time for a walk/swim/study.

 

The Venue:

The Senior Citizens Hall is just off Pt Nepean Highway and very close to the bay beach of Blairgowrie and walking distance to an excellent IGA supermarket and several cafes. It also has a very good kitchen.

Students to Bring:

  • Yoga Mat
  • Meditation cushion or stool if you use one (there are plenty of chairs)
  • Props if you use them such as bolster, strap, blocks, wedges, balls, blankets, eye pillow etc
  • Notebook and pen
  • A sarong or shawl for meditation
  • Bathers + towel for swimming,
  • Sun block, natural insect repellent, walking shoes
  • Your own lunch

Note: Students will be asked to pack their belonging away in the evening, so the floors can be cleaned

 

Provided will be

  • A variety of teas and chai.
  • Kombucha and ginger infusions
  • Fruit and some healthy snacks
  • Follow up handouts

Saras was a student of TKV Desikachar and senior therapist at KYM for many years. She is a teacher who lives the message of what she teaches, and imparts the her knowledge beautifully. It is an honour to be a student of hers, if only for a weekend.
